The third studio album from American singer and record producer Akon is titled Freedom. Acquitted was the album's initial name, but Akon altered it before it was made public. On December 1, 2008, it became available for download. On December 2, 2008, it hit shops. With 110,600 copies sold in its first week, the album debuted at number 7 on the Billboard 200.
