David Adedeji Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, is an American-Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer. He was born on November 21, 1992. His music fuses worldwide pop with traditional African themes. One of the best-known, most successful, and most influential African musicians of all time is Davido. On Twitter and Instagram, he currently has the most following among African artists.

Davido released "Dami Duro," the second single from his debut studio album Omo Baba Olowo, in 2012 and went on to win the Next Rated Award at The Headies (2012). He recorded several successful singles between 2013 and 2015, and in January 2016, he agreed to a record deal with Sony Music. He later established the music label Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), which acts signed.  Peruzzi, Mayorkun, Liya, and Dremo have signed contracts. Davido and Sony's RCA Records inked a record deal in July 2016. His five-track EP Son of Mercy, which included the singles "Gbagbe Oshi," "How Long," and "Coolest Kid in Africa," was released in October 2016. Due to problems with creative autonomy, Davido renegotiated his contract with Sony in April 2017. Later that year, he released five songs, including "If" and "Fall." While "Fall" became the longest-charting Nigerian pop song in Billboard history, "If" sparked global social media engagement. Davido is renowned for being dubbed "The king of current afrobeats."

In November 2019, Davido released his second studio album, A Good Time, which was accompanied by tracks like Blow My Mind, which included well-known American singer Chris Brown . In 2019, New African magazine listed Davido as one of the Top 100 most influential Africans. He released his third studio album, A Better Time, on Friday, November 13, 2020.

Davido was named one of the Next Time 100 most influential individuals in the world on February 17, 2021, and Time Magazine named him one of the genre's top voices in Afrobeats.

Afrobeat singer Davido asked his coworkers to send him a million naira each on his Instagram account in advance of his birthday (November 21, 2021). Davido mentioned receiving N200 million from supporters and friends, to which he added N50 million. He gave all orphanages in Nigeria N250 million. This was said by the singer in a statement before the birthday. He assembled a 5-man team to handle the practicalities of disbursing the funds.

Along with Trinidad Cardona and AISHA, Davido appeared on "Hayya Hayya (Better Together)," the opening tune from the lengthy FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM Official Soundtrack, in March 2022. As a result, Davido became the first musician from Nigeria to appear in a FIFA World Cup song.

Davido released a new song in May 2022 called "Stand Strong" with The Samples Choir. The song, according to the Naija Banquet, departs from the Nigerian singer's typical hop/dance sound. Davido reflects on his musical career and the struggles he faces every day in the song. It also tells the tale of his recovery. Davido announces his first annual concert in 2022 festival titled " Are We African Yet(A.W.A.Y)", holding at the State Farm Arena, Atlanta Georgia on the November 18, 2022.
