About Ayra Starr

Ayra Starr is the stage name of Nigerian singer  Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe (born 14 June 2002). Benin's Cotonou is where she was born. Before opting to focus on her musical career seriously, Ayra Starr started a modeling career at the age of 16 with Quove Model Management. In December 2019, she shared her first original song on her profile after previously recreating a number of songs by well-known musicians on Instagram. As a result, she caught the notice of music industry boss Don Jazzy and signed with Mavin Records.

With the release of her self-titled debut extended play in early 2021 and its popular song "Away," which spent two weeks in a row at number four on Nigeria's TurnTable Top 50 and peaked at number 17 on the US Billboard Top Triller Global, Ayra Starr gained widespread recognition. This opened the door for the release of her debut full-length mixtape, 19 & Dangerous, in August 2021. The album, which is mostly categorized as Afropop and R&B, has received generally positive reviews. In Nigeria, it produced two top forty singles. The first single, "Bloody Samaritan," climbed at number one on the Top 50 list, becoming the first solo track by a female artist to do so. Starr made her debut on the Pandora Predictions list, and on August 28, 2021, she was placed second on Billboard's Next chart.
